https://vimeo.com/9686849
During a talk by Cindy Chastain, she emphasises the importance of approaching business communication while thinking like a storyteller and how it can enhance presentations, proposals and pitches by making them more engaging and therefore memorable.
- Where to start? develop story telling skills (observe & listen then practice storytelling techniques)
- Narrative structure is key! Clear beginning, middle and end.
- Character conflict and resolution can be powerful.
- Authenticity - sharing personal experiences and emotion help us to connect with our audience
- Visual aid can enhance the audiences understanding of what you're trying to convey and also helps highlight key messages and hold a place in their mind.
- Understanding your audience and tailoring stories to resonate can have a massive impact on the success of your storytelling. (e.g shared interests, values and experiences)
